25 YEARS.. LOYAL GUESTS

Axel & Emmani

“Our first encounter with Mes Amis happened quite spontaneously. We went there for dinner with colleagues from the university through a Social Deal offer. What started as a lovely evening out soon led to more visits. Not long afterwards, we returned for a romantic dinner for two, and in 2017, we celebrated Axel's PhD graduation there. From that moment on, Mes Amis became one of our favourite places to return to. Christmas dinners, anniversaries, meals with family and friends: we always seem to find a reason to visit Mes Amis.”

A Little Too Enthusiastic
“The moment you walk through the door, you feel less like a guest and more like a good friend being welcomed home. The combination of exquisite dishes and Limburg wines never fails to impress us. We still look back with a smile at how enthusiastically we discovered the wine pairings during our first visit. Perhaps a little too enthusiastically, because the evening ended up being quite a lively affair! Our favourites? Cuvée Patriek or a beautiful Auxerrois. And, of course, the sauces. They are so delicious that we sometimes ask for an extra spoonful, just to enjoy them a little longer.

What sets Mes Amis apart from other restaurants is that it offers a complete experience. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the background music encourages good conversations, and everyone feels welcome. The food and wines are exceptional, but it is the combination with genuine personal attention that makes it truly special. You can completely be yourself while being thoroughly pampered.”

A Lasting Connection
“That personal approach is exactly why we keep coming back. Over the years, we have developed a connection that goes far beyond the usual relationship between guests and a restaurant. Even during the COVID lockdowns, that connection remained, for example through Mes Amis at Home, when Patriek personally delivered our dinner. It is also the little things that make all the difference: having a favourite table by the window, remembering how someone takes their coffee or taking personal preferences into account. Those are the details you never forget.

One of our fondest memories is the dinner celebrating Axel's PhD graduation. With family members of all ages gathered around the table, it became a truly special evening. What touched us most was the attention given to everyone present. The dishes were explained in different languages so that everyone could feel included. It may seem like a small gesture, but it made the evening unforgettable for us.

After all these years, visiting Mes Amis still feels like coming home. We have visited countless restaurants over the years, but this is the place we always return to when celebrating life's important moments. Thank you, Doelen family!”
