“For years, our Sunday evenings almost always had the same destination: Mes Amis. From 2002 onwards, we would regularly drive from North Brabant to Maastricht after work to enjoy the delicious, light cuisine, with a wonderful selection of vegetarian dishes, in the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant on Tongersestraat.”
Always Something to Celebrate
“Annaline was always there to welcome us with a big smile, took the time for a friendly chat and knew exactly how to make her guests feel special. Her love of wine was unmistakable too. As a qualified wine expert, she always had a beautiful selection of Dutch wines and wines from Belgian Limburg to offer.
Over the years, Mes Amis became the setting for many wonderful moments. One memory that still makes us laugh is a cheese tasting we attended in Belgium, followed by dinner at Mes Amis. As it turned out, it was as much a wine tasting as a cheese tasting. Fortunately, we were able to walk home that evening! We also celebrated New Year's Eve there several times with our friends Juul and Nelleke. The restaurant was full, a beautiful menu was served and, despite the crowds, everything seemed to run effortlessly.”
“When we look back on all those Sundays, holidays, dinners and special outings, there was really one constant throughout it all: Annaline. Time and again, she was the radiant heart of it all, whether at the restaurant or at another location.
