25 YEARS... IN GOOD HANDS

Mathieu

“I was 19 years old when I joined our family business, De Apostelhoeve. Around that same time, I met Annaline. She had just graduated as a wine expert and, together with Leon Geurtjens, owner of ’t Rommedoeke since 1988, started a wine-tasting group to gain experience in the field.

After gaining valuable experience at various restaurants in Maastricht, Annaline and Frans poured their hearts into opening restaurant Mes Amis. Over the years, not only did the restaurant flourish, but so did our friendship.”

Rooted in the Region
“As our friendship grew, so did her love for Limburg wines, something that would later become one of the cornerstones of Mes Amis. Annaline instinctively recognised that these wines could set her restaurant apart. With genuine passion and conviction, she gave them the spotlight they deserved. Much like De Apostelhoeve, Mes Amis also grew into a true family business, especially when her children, Patriek and Germaine, eventually found their own places within the restaurant.”

“What I will always treasure are the many wine trips we took together. The exceptional bottles, the laughter, and above all, our shared enthusiasm for wine and gastronomy. I sincerely hope Annaline will have more time for these experiences in the years ahead and can continue to embrace her roots as a wine expert.

À votre santé, Annaline. You’ve earned it!”
